“Mortal Danger” by Ann Rule-A crazy doctor and another dead woman what fell in love with a convict.

New Picture1I’d recently given my favorite true crime writer a
bad review for book she penned that was not at all her normal style.

Then I sit down and read this Ann Rule book and breathed a sigh of relief that it was written by the Ann Rule who I know.

Kate Jewell met Dr. John Branden and the story of their bizarre relationship was told. The different thing about this book, the character narrative that kept the story interesting, was how a well-off intelligent flight attendant could have fallen for a shyster and murderer like Branden.

Only Kate Jewell got away. It wasn’t easy but by hiding away and changing her identity. It was Branden’s next wife who didn’t survive her love of a con-man who sold vitamins.

There are a couple other true crime short stories in the book, as is Rule’s wont at times. The most intriguing is yet another female who got involved with a convict while he was in jail.

Who knew there was a dating site called inmate.com?

The inmate in the story was in jail for….killing his mother!

Someone fell in love with him and someone is dead.
