The Voice 2016, Season 11 Top Twelve Goes down to Top Eleven

I felt many of the songs sung on The Voice episode airing 11/15/16 were very bad. We got a few examples in this update.

So “The Voice” has entered into its top twelve with one already eliminated.

Below the top 12 and their assigned mentors.

Billy Gilman Adam
Brenden Fletcher Adam
Josh Ghallager Alicia
Sarayah Alicia
Christian Cuevas Alicia
We Mcdonald Alicia
Sundance Head Blake
Courtney Harrell Blake
Austin Allsup Blake
Alicia Caldwell Miley
Darby Walker Miley
Aaron Gibson Miley

Now let’s discuss their performances and provide a few videos.

Adam has only two contenders in the game now: Billy Gilman and Brenden Fletcher. Gilman sang Queen’s “The Show Must Go On” while Fletcher sang “The Whipping Post”.

Alicia has four contenders left. Josh Gallagher sang “Why” and this poor guy got married in the middle of all this.

Sarayah sang Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer”. Odd choice of song and Sarayah did get sent home.

Christian Cuevas sang “The Scientist and I thought he sounded just awful. Video of Christian’s performance below.

We McDonald is the contender I predicted, from the very start, that would win this. She didn’t do her best work this show but she’s still very good. A video of her performance below.

I don’t like the contender Sundance Head. Can’t stand that name and am not particularly fond of his music. He sang “My Church” with that raspy voice of his but guy is staying in there and might make it to top five.

Courtney Harrell sang Steven Tyler’s “I don’t want to miss a thing” in honor of her son who just went off to college.

Austin Allsup sang Aretha Franklin’s ” Do Right Woman”, an Aretha song I never heard before.

Ali Caldwell sang “Did I ever leave you”. Dear Lord I thought she screamed instead of singing.

Darby Walker sang “Ruby Tuesday” and I thought it sounded spooky and horrible. Below a video of Walker’s performance.

Miley’s Aaron Gibson sang a religious song to end the evening. He too has a real raspy voice with little appeal to me.

And so the contest moves on. Join jus again and we will be covering it to the end.
